My Social Action Project

Hi everyone. Part of becoming a Bat Mitzvah is taking a larger role in my community. I know I've been fortunate to have many opportunities in my life, and I'd like to help others get the same privileges.

One of those privileges is the opportunity to learn in an environment where I have everything I need for a good education.  At the beginning of every school year I always go with my family to get school supplies, and even though I’m not thrilled that school is starting again and summer is almost over, getting brand new school supplies always makes me feel very happy and a little more excited to start the new school year. I have also always noticed how expensive it all is, and I have realized that so many families would not possibly be able to afford it. I hope I can help other kids be prepared for school. 

I have decided to work with Kids In Need Foundation to distribute the supplies that I collect. They send the supplies to schools in need, for distribution to students. I would love it if you could help me support this organization. You can help by donating new and unused school supplies or by donating money that I will use to buy the school supplies myself.

If you live in or near Port Washington, NY, you can drop the school supplies off at my synagogue: RSNS (there will be a box by the front door) or at my house.
